ASUS Transformer Pad 300: The Affordable Quad Core Tablet

After Asus amazed most of us with its first Transformer tablet (Transformer Prime TF101T), the same guys did it again with the sequel of the same tablet (Transformer Prime TF201T). As we stated before, both tablets are great gadgets, except for one single bug: as any other premium tablets they are not particularly affordable. So the guys from Asus challenged themselves to create a tablet that would carry the same high tech features, but with reduced costs. This is how the Transformer Pad 300 was born, a blast of quad core tablet. Join us for more details!

The Transformer Pad 300 is powered by the latest NVIDIA Tegra 3 4-Plus-1, which says a lot about the strength of the tablet. The same tablet runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and comes with a full QWERTY Chiclet (island separated keys) docking board. All the above mentioned features make the Transformer Pad 300 one of the coolest slates and best equipped netbooks (when the keyboard is connected) at the same time.

The only compromise that has been made regarding our 10 inch tablet (because the Transformer Pad 300 is a 10 incher) is related to the display. So, if the two Transformer Primes were equipped with IPS Plus displays, the Transformer Pad 300 has suffered a drop down to IPS. Still, this last detail may only feel like a written data in an article, since you will still be able to enjoy HD resolution. The cameras placed on this quad core tablet are as follows: 8 MP the back one and 1.2 MP the front facing one, which reminds of the TF 201T.
The other specs Asus had to change in order to keep the price so low was the back case, now mare from plastic, not aluminum like it was the case with the Transformer Prime TF201. One unexpected advantage of using plastic is that the device is now lighter, and most important, it allows for better WiFi and GPS signals, a problem that plagued Asus' previous premium tablet, now EoL (End of Life). And the thing is the new Transformer Pad 300 doesn't feel cheap at all, as it's built to last.

The battery will last a bit less than the one of the Primes, but with the keyboard (which provides an additional supply) it will reach 15 hours. The storage space is to be chosen between 16 GB and 32 GB, just as the elder sisters of our quad core tablet.

In terms of performances, the ASUS Transformer Pad 300 is most certainly a very fast and interesting tablet (equipped with cutting edge technology). Moreover the long criticized display of our quad core tablet does provide very good viewing angles. To put it in a nutshell, the ASUS Transformer Pad 300 is fast, it looks good and it's got Polaris Office on it, so you'll be able to use it happily for work, as well.

The cost of the ASUS Transformer Pad 300 is only 379 US dollars for 16 GB version and 399 US dollars for the 32 GB one, which makes the ASUS Transformer Pad 300 an affordable quad core tablet and a great deal!
